Culture-historical regional museum
This regional museum has been established in the old thatched manor house "Oldemorstoft", which history goes back to 1472. The yard has its greatest times in the 1600, where it was headquater for the "bailiffs" in Vis Herred. In this period King Christian IV visited "Oldemorstoft" on his journeys.
During a renovation they found old decorated ceiling-beams, which later were renovated from the National-museum. Also, the original colours were re-made and now the rooms of the manor house's eastern part look as they did in about 1850.
In these rooms you can learn about the history of the gendarmerie in the 1920's.
Also, you learn about the daily life in a border region.
The argricultur museum is the largest in South of Jutland (more than 10000 articles) and there also is a large arbricultural libraby. The museum was established as former argricultural adviser N.A. Drewsen donated his large collection of argricultural machinery til the museum in 1989.
